Skye Bailey is the creative director and founder of The Zombie Wellness Project, a creative wellness initiative supported by Brooklyn B.A.R. Productions, LLC. This mission-driven creative practice uses visual storytelling, digital content, and community engagement to design healing-centered experiences inspired by the magic of Halloween.
Skye Bailey is a professional moving-image artist whose practice centers on a minimalist visual language, where graphic elements serve as protagonists in silent, one-minute films. Bypassing text, dialogue, and human representation, the work removes the language barrier, making the storytelling universally accessible across cultures. This practice relies on precise vector choreography and structural timing developed primarily in Apple Keynote alongside the Adobe Creative Suite. After earning the 2023 "Rookie of the Year" award in Motion Graphics from The Rookies for early work featuring atmospheric sound, followed by the 2024 Big Idea Grant, their practice evolved in 2026 into a dedicated focus on pure silence for final exhibition works. Their moving-image works have been recognized across international festival circuits, including Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival, the Los Angeles Animation Festival, the New York Animation Film Awards, and Midnight Madness Toronto.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores the intersection of silent cinema and minimalist movement, investigating the narrative potential of pure form within single-channel digital installations. By replacing the human figure with graphic elements, I strip away the pervasive "noise" and anxiety of traditional media, where representational choices so often carry harmful tropes, superficial stereotypes, and systemic biases. Moving beyond these visual distractions allows me to cultivate a sanctuary of focused storytelling. Through disciplined vector choreography and structural timing across a minimalist field of black space, I work to breathe life into these basic graphic elements with a distinct soul, challenging the viewer to discover emotion, tension, and rhythm in the most fundamental structures of visual language.
